New production technologies and development of polymer industry enabled us to develop polymer-sand composition material which makes the base for the new type of this roofing material – polymer-sand tile. Being as good as classical analogues and sometimes even better, this new roofing product has become more accessible, making the consumption market broader.

Running in the mind over all adv antages and drawbacks of existing roofing materials, we can come to some conclusions. They are short: the roofing should be durable, light, fire-resistant, requiring minimum operating expenses. And the whole roof should be such as done once competently and with care, it would serve you for next 50 or even 70 years. All these requirements may be found with our roofing material — ТМ «Yunona» polymer-sand tile.

It is produced from complex composition material through pressing method with preliminary heating of the components. It consists of 70% of sand, 29% of polymer and 1% of coloring material. At the expense of high quantity of sand and special coloring materials, polymer-sand tile practically isn’t exposed to ultra-violet aging treatment (i.e. it doesn’t lose color and within years the roofing will look tidy, solid and will look good to the eye), it isn’t afraid of sharp temperature changes and severe frosts. During production process the tile went through temperature tests at -65° to +100°С.

Besides, ТМ «Yunona» polymer-sand tile has such a small factor of water absorption that it is not subject to fatal influence of moulds, acid rains and moss. Thanks to the low heat conductivity polymer-sand tile helps maintain the temperature mode in the sub roof space that makes it suitable for mansard and garret premises covering. It’s cool under such roof in summer and warm in winter.

Low heat conductivity and water resistance preconditions absence of condensate on the internal surface of the tile covering that considerably prolongs time of service of wooden and mansard constructions of a roof.

Like the ceramic, the new tile has surprisingly beautiful appearance and is simple in installation. Unlike the traditional tile it is much lighter – no more than 22 kg / sq. m. And reduction of the tile weight allows reducing the use of saw-timber for the roof framework. Polymer-sand tile also possesses high sound-proof qualities, therefore does not demand creation of special suppressing layers. To all abovementioned it is necessary to add that ТМ «Yunona» polymer-sand tile muffles sounds extremely well, making a roof noiseless even in a torrential rain and strong hails. However at direct use of mansards or garrets, it is nevertheless necessary to give a proper attention to roof arrangement.

As the tile is a masonry unit, at its purchase the necessary quantity is calculated precisely according to the covering area, without making any stock in case of unforeseen assembly expenses (unlike in the case of the metal tile). It is true that at constructing the hip-and-valley roofs you will not have a big quantity of fine waste materials as ТМ «Yunona» polymer-sand tile easily takes both a usual saw and an abrasive circle. As for the installation itself, the use of polymer-sand tile allows to save even on hardware products as it does not require any special fixture or nails. You can easily use screws, wooden plugs and usual nails, at the same time the tile installation is so simple that it can be done by an amateur.
